Passport Documents

As of April 14th 2014, passport applications are accepted by appointment only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call the office to make an appointment.

The Sedgwick County Register of Deeds accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports from 8 am to 2 pm., Monday through Friday at the Sedgwick County Courthouse, 525 N. Main, Suite 227, Wichita, KS.

Payment Options:

Personal checks, cashier's checks and money orders are accepted for US Department of State fees. No starter checks, credit or debit cards can be accepted for passport fees.  Register of Deeds fees are payable by check or cash.

The register of deeds became an acceptance facility to make it more convenient for Sedgwick County citizens. This facility will be offering a one-stop-shop environment.

  1. Visit www.travel.state.gov for application forms, required documentation, fees and other passport and international travel information.

  2. Get your photo taken at the register of deeds' office.

  3. Register of deeds will send the completed forms to be processed.

  4. Check your status online at the above Web site.

  5. Wait for your passport to arrive in the mail.
