On behalf of Woodman Elementary PTO, thank you for the donation you made to our Fun & Fitness Night.  The event was a huge success.  We estimate 1000 of our Woodman friends and families were in attendance and we brought in approximately $10,000 in drawing ticket sales, "Time with Teacher" silent auction bids, concessions, and event punch card sales.  Your contribution allowed families to come together in support of our school and brought us one step closer to the purchase of new playground equipment.  Again, thank you for your generous donation and for supporting Woodman families.

To the EMS Team of the early morning of May 22, 2010 (1:20 a.m.) who came to my house.

I wanted to write this EMS team and thank you for the way you handled yourselves with my treatment, evaluation, & transport to Wesley Medical Center.

Your team worked quietly, efficiently and professionally and I felt important in the midst of my fearful and panicked state of mind.

I regret I don't know the names of you all, but if this can reach you, I want you to know you can be proud of the job you perform.  You are masters at your craft.

To whom it may concern,

In the late afternoon of February 22, 2010 your department was dispatched by a 911 call to Gorges Volvo dealership at 3211 N. Webb Rd.  I was the patient that the call was about.  I would like to thank your men and women who took care of me in a very professional and caring manner.  I believe I probably was not in very good shape when you first got there but with your care I was soon fine again.

Since your department does not receive any money for 911 calls that don't result in someone going to the hospital, I have enclosed a check for $100.00.  This money can be used either to purchase additional supplies or for the employees to use towards food for this station.

I sincerely thank you but I am going to make sure that I do not get myself into this situation again.

Thank You,

S.K.W.

Dear Mr. Steven Cotter,

I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for several EMTs that responded to my 911 call last week.  Last Tuesday night around 9pm my son, "A" of 15 months, woke up wheezing and having difficulty breathing.  My son has a milk allergy and we thought maybe he was having a reaction to some yogurt I fed him earlier (he doesn't normally react to yogurt, just cow's milk).  Three EMTs arrived to our home within 5 minutes of our call.  Unfortunately in all the confusion we only remember the last name of one of them, Mr. Stoll.  The other two were women-both of which were young, one blonde with long hair and the other burnette with short hair.  Once they arrived they relieved the firefighters who had arrived just beforehand and began comforting my son and giving him oxygen and albuterol.  Of course with so much going on  he was crying a lot, but the EMTs were very patient, professional and loving towards him.  The brunette stayed back with me and asked me questions.  She then drove us to the hospital in the ambulance while my husband, Mr. Stoll and the blonde were in the back continuing to work on my son.  By the time we arrived his breathing had greatly improved.  They stayed in the room with us until the nurse taking over had all my son's information.  Once "A" had calmed down the blonde EMT gave him a choice between a little stuffed ostrich and a bear.  He picked the ostrich and smiled at her!

Of course no parent wants to experience something like this, but the professionalism and considerate nature of the EMTs that responded to our call made everything so much more bearable.  Please extend our gratitude to them and if possible, let them see this letter.  I hope that your paperwork will pinpoint the names of the two women who worked with Mr. Stoll.

Thank you,

V.M.

Hi, We just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas $ Happy New Year!  And we wanted to let you know "O" is doing well.  Twice this year my son has had to be transported to Wesley because of seizures.

On Fri. June 26th at about 6:30 AM (he was 4 yrs old then) 2 women transported him (one even had to carry him onto the ambulance) and we want to say THANK YOU!  And again the night before Thanksgiving about 10:30 pm (he was 5 then) a woman & a man came.  I didn't even realize until after they left the hospital that she had brought his favorite bear blanket with him.  THANK YOU!  It was a nice surprise for him when he woke up in PICU to have his favorite blanket he calls 'OL blue - Hope to not see you NEXT YEAR!

The family of E.R. would like to express our sincere gratitude for responding so quickly (July 9) and working so diligently on E.  We understand the heartache you must have felt as time went by without even a flicker of hope.  E. set goals for himself at the beginning of last school year.  Looking over the list he made, he pretty much accomplished all that he set out to do.  Now he, as a Christian, has met the one final goal in life, to be in Heaven with Jesus Christ, our Savior.  We still miss him so very much, but can rejoice with him that his is in a better place and wait until the day we see him again.  We enclose a copy of E.'s obituary to share with you since you never had the opportunity to know how special he was.  Thanks again for choosing such a life saving occupation, knowing also that there may not always be a happy ending here on earth.

You truly are heroes.

Gods Blessings,
J. and K. R.  - Wichita, KS

On Thursday, June 25, my husband (RC) realized I was in dire need of medical attention and called 911.  Chad Maugans and Janell Stevens were the paramedics responding to the call.  Apparently, I was only semi-conscious and delirious.  I can only imagine the effort they put forth to get me on the gurney and into the ambulance.  My husband said they were very professional, caring and quick.  Within a couple minutes of their arrival, I was on my way to St. Francis.  This was a first time experience for us.

Please convey to Chad Maugans and Janell Stevens our utmost gratitude and appreciation.  We are very grateful for all they did.

Sincerely,

D.G.

...I was in Wichita last week and suffered from a severe virus and dehydration.  We were staying at the Hyatt and we called EMS.  Lt. Jacqueline Cook and Tech Sara Gillespie came to our room and did an outstanding job.  They acted in such a professional manner and still maintained an attitude of caring about their patients.  We were blown away with there service and how they responded to our every need.  They made an uncomfortable situation much more bearable...
