The Sedgwick County Division of Human Resources employment services is located at the Wichita Workforce Center, 150 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas. At this location we assist customers seeking employment with Sedgwick County and coordinate all pre-employment testing services. The Wichita Workforce Center serves as a single point-of-entry to a network of employment, training, and educational programs and providers

Award-winning Programs
HR Honored as a “2005 Best Practice” Agency
The Sedgwick County Division of Human Resources was honored as a “Best Practice” agency for DHRs “Customer Service Program” by the Kansas Chapter of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources, at it annual awards program, July 15, in Wichita. The Best Practices Award is conferred on an IPMAHR-KS member-supported agency for “demonstrating leadership through innovative HR Practices”. Jo Templin, HR Director, as on hand to receive the award on behalf of Sedgwick County Division of Human Resources.
IPMAHR-KS is an association of public human resource professionals in the state of Kansas whose mission is to “Create and maintain a Kansas association of public human resource professionals that enhances the professional competencies of individual members and develops the profession of public human resource management in Kansas.
Kansas HRePartners
In December of 2000, Sedgwick County Human Resources, in partnership with the City of Derby, Kansas, inaugurated Kansas HRePartners. Since then the partnership has grown to include 36 cities, counties, and state agencies in Kansas. Kansas HRePartners serves as a portal to employment information and application processes. In other words, a customer can log on to one web site, accesses information about opportunities in 36 different organizations, and submit the same on-line application for any of the positions posted. Our philosophy is simple, by sharing technology and information everybody wins – Most of all our customers.
Recognized as a “significant breakthrough in the area of local government employment recruiting and application management”, Kansas HRePartners received the 2002 “eGovernance Silver Seal of Distinction” from the National Academy of Public Administration.
In recognition of our innovation in developing Kansas HRePartners, Sedgwick County HR was awarded the 2001 “Best Practices Award” by the Central Region of the International Personnel Association.
Because of our customer focus, innovative programs, and contributions to efficient and effective government personnel programs, the International Personnel Management Association recognized Sedgwick County HR as a 2001 “Agency of Excellence”.
