(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – School is just around the corner! Sedgwick County wants to help students get ready for the 2019-20 school year by ensuring they have the required vaccinations for attendance. Check with your primary care physician or the Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) to make sure your children who attend elementary, middle, and high school and early childhood programs licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) are up-to-date.

The SCHD will provide immunizations for children age 18 and younger at the following Convoy of Hope Wichita Event locations at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20:

  • Bethel Life Center at 3777 S. Meridian; and
  • McAdams Park, 1329 E. 13th

Your child’s immunization (shot) record is required for review prior to receiving vaccines.

Back-to-school immunizations are offered every day to all children at the SCHD Main Clinic, at 2716 W. Central Ave, Wichita.

  • On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, walk-in clients are served.
  • On Monday through Friday afternoons, clients with appointments are served.

SCHD bills private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. For uninsured children age 18 and younger, the cost for vaccinations is based on a sliding fee scale, and proof of income is required. Please bring your child’s shot record to the Clinic.

For more information about vaccinations or to make an appointment, please contact SCHD at (316) 660-7300 or contact your primary care physician. KDHE school immunization information is found at http://www.kdheks.gov/immunize/index.html.
