(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – The City of Clearwater, Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Sedgwick County, together confirm a total of 52 cases (43 residents and nine staff) of COVID-19 at the Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Seven residents will have been returned to the Center from the hospital by the end of today. There is one more death associated with this cluster.

After the cluster was identified at the Center, facility officials tested all residents for COVID-19. Not all test results for people living in the facility have been returned. Staff may be tested for the disease through the Sedgwick County Health Department or a primary doctor.

This is an ongoing situation. Facility officials are following recommendations from the Sedgwick County Health Department and KDHE, and are working to contain the spread of the disease in the Center. All services continue to be provided to residents within the home. Staffing levels have increased to handle the additional workload.
