(Sedgwick County, KS) – During its regular meeting today the Board of Sedgwick County Commissioners voted to amend the Order Dr. Garold Minns signed this morning.

Changes to the order include:

  • Children age 11 or younger are not required to wear a mask and children age two and younger should not wear a face covering because of the risk of suffocation.
  • Businesses licensed to sell alcohol for on premise consumption, that are not classified as bars or night clubs, are no longer required to close at midnight.
  • Swimming pools are exempted from the order.
  • The order will begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 24 and be active through Friday, Aug. 21, at 11:59 p.m. It will be revisited weekly.

These amendments reflect what was discussed during the Commissioners staff meeting yesterday.
