(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – At its meeting today, the Board of County Commissioners approved a settlement of $300,000 related to an accident that occurred on September 25, 2020, at the intersection of 263rd West and 71st St. South.
A Ford Expedition was driving south on 263rd St. West in between Cheney and Clearwater – when the driver of a semitrailer loaded with grain ran a stop sign while headed east on 71st St. South. This two-vehicle accident claimed the lives of five people - a mother and her four children.
Sedgwick County respects the legal process and has agreed to settle the claim; working with the family to reach an amicable settlement.
