From the County Manager’s Office, effective immediately, all media interviews with Sedgwick County public officials will be conducted by phone (either one-on-one calls or conference calls). During the coronavirus pandemic, elected officials and media partners are vitally important to insure proper communication to the public. If interview requests cannot be accommodated via phone or video conference call, then an appointment can be made with Sedgwick County Strategic Communications and an interview will be scheduled as long as at least six feet of distance (CDC recommended best practice) remains between the two talking parties.
All media should contact Communications, (316) 660-9370, before visiting the Courthouse.
These actions, which will be assessed on an ongoing basis during the coronavirus pandemic, are meant to protect the safety of reporters, elected officials, and staff.
