Due to the court ruling in Shawnee County District Court today, the Secretary of State has issued new instructions for county election commissioners including, Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman.

Effective immediately, citizens who registered to vote at state motor vehicle offices but did not provide proof of citizenship are allowed to vote on a full provisional ballot. Previously, they were only allowed to vote on federal offices only. The status of individuals affected by the ruling will not be changed.

A full court hearing is expected after the Primary Election on Aug. 2. The complete instructions are attached.
