Sedgwick County Emergency Medical Services will participate in a Virtual Tabletop Mass Casualty Incident, or MCI Drill at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, 2193 S. Air Cargo Road, Wednesday, September 28, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The simulation will involve an accident with a large passenger aircraft. It will evaluate emergency response and transport to area hospitals.
Expect extensive radio traffic during the MCI drill.
Drill related communications will be conducted on the following 800MHz radio channels.
- Sedgwick County EMS, EMS-OPS Channel
- Sedgwick County Emergency Management Tactical Channel, TAC-9
- MedComs, ALL-HOSP
- State Channel Notifications, SC10 EMS, SC10 MED
Other participants include airport safety and Wichita area hospitals, who will be participating virtually.
This fulfills the airports required yearly drill.
