The Sedgwick County Commission has appointed Mike Pepoon as Acting County Counselor effective May 2, 2015. Currently, an assistant county counselor, Pepoon has been with Sedgwick County for 30 years. County Counselor Rich Euson retired on March 23, 2015 after 34 years of service.
Sedgwick County Human Resources is currently in the process of recruiting the next County Counselor. The County is seeking a County Counselor to support and advise the Board of Sedgwick County Commissioners, the County Manager, the Legal Department and others as needed to provide legal advice and opinions on a wide variety of municipal laws. This position reports to the Board of County Commissioners and manages all legal affairs in which the County is involved.
Sedgwick County is looking for an attorney with seven to ten years of experience in the practice of law as it relates to local units of government, and who is eligible to practice law before the courts of the State of Kansas and the Federal District Court for the District of Kansas.
