(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) and its Advance Plans Committee will meet this Thursday, June 6, to discuss amendments to the Unified Zoning Code related to renewable energy systems. Both meetings are open to the public.

Advance Plans Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Ronald Reagan Building, 271 W. 3rd Street.

MAPC will meet at 1:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Ronald Reagan Building, 271 W. 3rd Street.

The Board of Sedgwick County Commissioners is tentatively scheduled to review the amendments Wednesday, July 17 then discuss the moratorium Wednesday, July 24.

Commissioners approved a Resolution establishing a temporary prohibition of wind and solar energy zoning applications in February. The moratorium will temporarily prohibit the acceptance and processing of an application for a commercial wind or solar energy system until August 12, 2019.
