The KDHE dashboard differs because it also includes people who are IgM antibody test or antigen test positive if they are linked to a confirmed case or if they have COVID-19 symptoms.

Vaccination Doses Given by Sedgwick County

  • Vaccination appointments are open for all people aged 12 and older. Schedule an appointment online at www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/vaccine/schedule/ or walk-in during clinic hours.
    • The one-dose Johnson and Johnson (J&J) vaccine is available by walk-in or appointment daily as supply allows.
    • Everyone, especially minors, are encouraged to eat a meal or snack prior to arriving to prevent any nausea that may occur following your vaccination.
    • If you are receiving a vaccine, the Sedgwick County Health Department asks that you are well hydrated before and after receiving your dose.
  • The following location is open to residents for walk-in or appointments:
  • 223 S. Main | Former Wichita Central Library | Clinic for eligible people aged 12 and older
  • The last day of the drive-thru clinic at Wichita Transit Operations, 777 E. Waterman, was Thursday, June 24 due to decreased demand for the drive-thru.
  • The main vaccine clinic, 223 S. Main and no-cost COVID-19 walk-in sampling/testing at Sedgwick County Park will be closed Monday, July 5 for Independence Day.
  • Please plan to allow at least 45 minutes for your vaccine appointment.
  • To find a vaccine clinic near you, visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search/ and enter your zip code. You can also check with your doctor’s office or community health center to find out if the vaccine is offered there.

Mobile and Partner Vaccine Clinics

Mobile clinics are offered by SCHD staff and will be open on a first come, first serve (walk-in) basis.

Partner clinics are offered by community partners and assisted by SCHD staff. Appointments preferred but walk-ins are welcome.

Event clinics are where SCHD offers vaccine during an event. Businesses planning events can contact SCHD by email at SCHDCovidVaccine@sedgwick.gov.

Item giveaways may be provided to people who receive vaccine at certain mobile and partner clinic locations as identified below.

Sedgwick County Health Department Update

  • No-cost, walk-in testing is regularly available for residents, regardless of symptoms, through the Health Department Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is required.
    • Operations will take place at the Sedgwick County Park, Sunflower Shelter, 6501 W. 21st St, Wichita, KS, 67205 for saliva, NP, and oral PCR samples.
    • Please enter off of 13th Street and follow the signs in the park.
    • Results are generally available within 12-24 hours. The Health Department will make three attempts to reach residents with their results.
      • If you receive a voicemail or missed call from the Health Department, please call back in order to receive your results.
      • For the quickest response, please call (316) 660-1022 and listen for the prompt to leave a message for the results department. 

Sedgwick County Updates

  • The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is partnering with Lyft to provide access to reliable, affordable transportation to older adults who need a ride to the get to their COVID-19 vaccine .
  • Sedgwick County will receive $100,235,109 from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to continue our recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your help to determine the best ways to sue these funds. The funds can provide support to individuals, families, and businesses, and cover specific costs for school and local governments.
