(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Together, the Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization and Project SEARCH sites in Wichita, Maize and Derby will be hosting their Virtual Reverse Job Fair from April 1 through May 15 (flyer attached). This unique opportunity connects employers and skilled candidates who thrive in typically high-turnover positions.
Interested employers can register at www.scprojectsearch.com/reverse-job-fair-registration.
The Project SEARCH program prepares interns with intellectual/developmental disabilities for competitive employment. Through a series of job placements, these interns gain a variety of skills and knowledge to prepare them for entering the workforce. At the end of each program cycle, interns have the opportunity to pitch themselves to potential employers through a Reverse Job Fair. Due to the pandemic, the Reverse Job Fair has gone virtual with an innovative approach that allows employers to get to know the candidates without meeting face-to-face.
Each intern has prepared a video resume that showcases their skills in action as well as interviews with their supervisors. Interested employers can set up an interview online through the event. This no-cost event is a great place to find long-term employees for typically high turnover, entry-level positions, as well as making your workplace a more diverse and inclusive environment.
