(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Today, as Chairman of the Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC), Ryan Baty presented the 2024 Chairman’s Award to Stand Together, a nonprofit founded in 2003 that tackles the root causes of many serious issues facing our nation. Its philanthropic community collaborates with dozens of bold changemakers to create and support solutions. In Sedgwick County, Stand Together has actively engaged local social entrepreneurs focused on transforming K-12 education, affordable housing, addiction recovery and other pressing issues.

“In choosing Stand Together for the Chairman’s Award, I want to elevate an organization that cares deeply about our community and is willing to help provide resources towards grassroots, transformative solutions,” said BoCC Chairman Ryan Baty. “I have personally worked closely with Stand Together on issues related to foster care and vulnerable families, and our partnership led to the launch of the Care for Every Family Network.”

Chairman Baty encourages Sedgwick County residents to learn more about both nonprofits at www.standtogether.org and www.careforeveryfamily.com.

Also during the Jan. 15 BoCC meeting, Commissioner Ryan Baty was selected to serve as the 2025 Chairman, and Commissioner Pete Meitzner will be the new Chair Pro Tem. Both will fill these roles until Jan. 14, 2026.
