Sedgwick County EMS will partner with the Sheriff’s Office, Wichita Fire Department, INTRUST Bank Arena, and local hospitals in a series of drills involving a hostile event at INTRUST Bank Area on May 10 and 17, 2018. Drills will begin at 9 a.m. each morning and last until 7 p.m.
The public may observe several simulated patients being moved in the area surrounding the Arena and should be aware of emergency vehicles operating in the area. News media outlets that monitor radio channels may encounter radio traffic of the simulated event. Members of the media may view the training inside the Arena by coordinating with INTRUST Bank Arena’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Christine Pileckas (316.213.9469).
These events are intended to enhance these partnerships and improve the community’s response should a hostile event occur. These drills will increase preparedness for first responders and INTRUST Bank Arena for any hostile action that may strike at a mass gathering event.
