(Sedgwick County, KS) – Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for young children on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at its Main Clinic at 2716 W. Central, Wichita. The clinic will provide no-cost Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months through 4 years. The clinic will serve all children in this age group, regardless of their insurance status.

Vaccines are available on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m.-noon. Appointments are also available by calling 316-660-7361 until 5 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022.

SCHD will provide first doses of the three-dose Pfizer vaccine at the clinic. In trials, the Pfizer vaccine was shown to be 80.3% effective against infection by the Omicron variant, which affected young children at higher rates than previous variants. The vaccine underwent extensive clinical trials to determine that it was safe, effective and appropriately dosed to minimize possible side effects in this age group.
