Sedgwick County Emergency Management Advanced CERT Team
The Sedgwick County Advanced CERT Team is an organized group of volunteers specially trained to fill specific roles during our response to a disaster. Our Advanced Team continues to build on their capabilities having only formed in July 2023. Our vision is to create a versatile, multi-functional team of volunteers who help us and their community but responding to help those in need during a disaster. Those roles may include:
- Damage Assessment Recon Team (DART).
- Volunteer Reception Center Operations (VREP).
- Multi-Agency Resource Center Support. (MARC)
- Post disaster canvassing and information dissemination.
- Generators and Lighting.
- Logistical, Command Post, and/or EOC support.
- Public Outreach Team.
- Field Hospital Operations.
- Emergency Shelter Operations.
- Wide-Area Search & Rescue.
- K9 Search Team equipment support.

TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN HELPING OUR COMMUNITY RECOVER FROM A DISASTER
Requirements for team membership include completing the following:
- Complete Sedgwick County CERT Basic Training Weekend
- IS-100 - Introduction to Incident Command System
- IS-200 - ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Response
- IS-700 - Introduction to National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- IS-800 - National Response Framework
- IS-317 - Intro to CERT
- Once those qualifications have been Completed, Apply for the Advanced Team here!
- Once your qualifications have been uploaded, the Sign-Up button will refer you to a background check.
Advanced Team Meetings
The Advanced CERT Team meets 6-8pm, every 2nd Thursday of the month. Meeting locations change based on the content of the training.
