Waste Tire Collection Event

Sedgwick County is providing a free Waste Tire Collection Event in 2025. The event will take place April 10-12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sedgwick County West Yard at 4701 S. West Street in Wichita, KS. The event is open to Sedgwick County residents, farmers, and local government only. NO BUSINESSES.

There is a disposal limit of 50 tires per person.

Please be prepared to unload your own tires. Tires on rims will be accepted.

There are no public restrooms at the West Yard.

Please check back in April for directions and information regarding road construction on West Street.

Bulky Waste Coupon

Bulky Waste Coupons will be available starting in April of 2025. Please check back in early April to request a coupon.

Sedgwick County residents are eligible to sign up online to receive a Bulky Waste Coupon. 1 coupon per residence. NO BUSINESSES. The coupon allows the resident to dispose of up to 1,000 pounds of bulky waste at no cost. Coupons can be used Tuesday through Saturday at the Waste Connections Transfer Station.

Each coupon is valid for 2 months.

Examples of Acceptable Bulky Waste Items	Items NOT covered by the coupon
Furniture	Tires
Rugs and carpet	Mattresses and box springs
Countertops, toilets, vanities, showers, bathtubs	Appliances containing refrigerant
Tree limbs	Liquids
Large appliances that do not contain refrigerants such as: stoves, dishwashers, microwaves, washers, dryers	Hazardous materials
Console televisions and large televisions	Commercially generated construction and demolition material
Swing sets

Waste Connections requires ALL individuals to wear a high visibility vest when entering the Transfer Station. Vests are available for purchase if necessary.

Tues. - Fri. 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All individuals must wear a high visibility vest.

All individuals must unload their own vehicles/trailers.

Bearer of coupon is responsible for any cost incurred above the $40 or 1000 lbs. (1/2 ton).
