In Sedgwick County, discarded material is taken to the transfer station and then to the Plumb Thicket Landfill in Harper County or the Red Carpet Landfill in Oklahoma.
Sedgwick County residents are encouraged to self-haul large, bulky items (i.e. tires, appliances, wood waste, brush, etc.) to the transfer station. CFC-containing appliances such as air conditioners, freezers, and refrigerators are accepted at the Waste Connections Transfer Station and are subject to an additional charge.
For all construction and demolition debris, please haul to one of theĀ C&D landfills.
Waste Connections owns and operates a transfer station on the northwest corner of 37th St. North and West Street. For more information, call the Waste Connections Transfer Station at 941-4320.
