On July 12th, the County Manager presented his 2018 Recommended Budget of $425.2 million, which is $0.2 million less than the 2017 revised budget for all operating funds. Property tax rates are estimated to be 29.359 mills for Sedgwick County and 18.414 mills for Fire District 1. The 2018 budget will be considered by the Board of County Commissioners on August 2nd after holding two public hearings on July 19 at 9 a.m. and July 31 at 6 p.m., along with an online public budget forum.
