On August 12, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2021 budget of $457,628,810. This budget was formulated under exceptional and unprecedented circumstances due to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic. Assessed valuation growth in Sedgwick County is 4.58 percent and 2.46 percent in Fire District 1. Property tax rates are 29.376 mills for Sedgwick County and 17.891 mills for Fire District 1. The 2021 budget is mostly flat with the 2020 budget and was adjusted to address the economic impacts while maintaining a prudent fund balance and preserving service levels.
