Sedgwick County offers a dedicated team of employment professionals to assist with the application process, questions regarding employment opportunities, and position testing requirements. Sedgwick County also offers U.S. Veterans and Military Spouses preference for all positions.  Individuals that qualify for preference are ensured a first level interview.  To qualify, individuals must meet the minimum qualifications of the position and submit acceptable documentation of military service during the application process.  Acceptable documents include DD214 (showing honorable character of service), DD1300, or NGB22 forms, marriage license/certificate and active military orders, or other official discharge documents recognized by the VA under which a spouse qualifies for preference per K.S.A. 73-1208.
