18th Judicial District Court of Kansas has offices and courtrooms located in the Sedgwick County Courthouse, but it is part of the State of Kansas Judicial Branch, not part of Sedgwick County Government. District Court must receive its own records requests and act upon them.
Records available from District Court include:
- Marriage records
- Divorce records
- Civil case records
- Criminal convictions and case records
- Wills and other probate records
- Spousal and child support records
The public may use public access computers to search for and access records during normal business hours. Considerable information about records available, procedures for requesting and fees is available at the District Court open records website.
Please note that adoption records, expunged criminal records, and many child-in-need-of-care and juvenile records are among those records closed by law for access by the general public.
