Help us prevent stormwater pollution and make sure ONLY rain goes down storm drains. While storm drains are designed to divert water from streets, they become dangerous water polluters when harmful substances from lawns and streets flow through them. Follow these simple prevention tips to help:

  1. Never apply lawn chemicals before rain or watering the lawn.
  2. Pick up your pet’s waste.
  3. Never pour used motor oil down drains.
  4. Remove any debris and residue from the concrete and paved areas around your home.
  5. Avoid washing your car on a driveway or in the street.
  6. Never dump trash down storms drains.

Polluted stormwater contaminates local waterways. It can harm plants, fish and wildlife, while degrading the quality of water.
