What is the purpose of the Property Activity Alert?
The Property Activity Alert is a way for property owners or other interested parties to receive free email notifications when a document is recorded by the Sedgwick County Register of Deeds and indexed with a specific name.
How does the program work?
After you sign up, the automated program sends an email to you when a document is recorded with a name that is an exact match to the name you entered in the subscription screen. The email provides instructions for viewing the document on our public website.

How do I sign up for Property Activity Alert?

Is there a fee for the Property Activity Alert?
No. This is a free service provided by the Sedgwick County Register of Deeds Office.
How many names can I monitor?
You may use the same email address to create multiple subscriptions for different names.
What information do I need to sign up for this service?
The only information you need to provide is your first and last name along with your email address.
How do I subscribe for “John B. Smith Junior (Jr.)”?
Only enter your first and last name in the first and last name fields. A document may not include your middle name or suffix such as Jr./Sr. or II/III.
My first and/or last name is spelled different ways; how should I enter it?
Use the same email address to create subscriptions for different spellings.
If I have a common name, what will distinguish my alerts from another person’s name?
The system is automatic and does not know different people can have matching names. You may receive emails for names that happen to match with other subscribers’ party names. Follow the instructions in the email to view the image or contact us directly at 316-660-9400 and we can help you with the document.
I own a business, how should I enter my business name?
Enter business names in the Last Name field only. For best results, do not enter “The” if it is the first word of your business name.
What if my email address changes or I want to cancel my subscription?
To change or cancel your Property Activity Alert subscription, please call (316) 660-9400.
Does this service alert me of documents recorded in other counties?
No, this service only alerts subscribers of documents recorded in Sedgwick County Register of Deeds records.
What if I believe fraud has occurred?
If you believe a document recorded with your name is fraudulent, file a Consumer Complaint Form with the Consumer Protection Division of the District Attorney’s office.
This form may be emailed to consumer@sedgwick.gov or mail to the address on the form.
