Guidelines
“If a person has a bench warrant in County Court, there are two (2) ways to address the bench warrant: (1) payment of the fines and court costs in full; and (2) request a court date to personally appear before the County Court judge to request that the bench warrant be withdrawn. Under option (1), anyone can make the payment, as long as the ticket number or court case number is included with the payment. Upon full payment of the fines and court costs reflected in the warrant, the warrant would be withdrawn. With option (2), the warrant would remain active unless and until the County Court judge would withdraw the bench warrant during the court date requested by the defendant. Because the bench warrant would remain active until that court date, under option (2) the defendant could still be taken into custody on the warrant prior to the scheduled court date.”
