The Fifteenth Annual Michael S. Reele Award ceremony will take place on January 11, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in the 1 st Floor Jury Room of the Sedgwick County Courthouse, 525 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas.
The Michael S. Reele Award is given to the Sheriff’s Office employee who has consistently and most notably displayed the core values of Integrity, Duty, Ethics, Attitude, Leadership, and Service while fulfilling the mission of the Sheriff's Office during the preceding year.
During this event, the 2016 Citizen Volunteer of the Year, 2016 Sheriff’s Reserve Deputy of the Year, and the 2016 Sheriff’s Cadet of the Year will also be announced. The reception will also recognize and honor those who received awards in 2016.
Deputy Michael Reele lost his battle with Leukemia on May 14, 2002. His ever positive attitude and dedication to service to the community prompted this annual honor. Members of Mike's family will travel from New York to present the award to the 2016 recipient.
