At about 2:40 a.m. on June 28, 2017 a patrol sergeant with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office stopped a white 2013 Toyota for a traffic violation near I-235 and South Seneca in Wichita. The driver of the car is a detention deputy with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and has been for eight months. The driver showed signs of impairment and was booked in to jail on allegations of Driving Under the Influence.

We take pride in demonstrating these values on a daily basis. The Sheriff’s Office will always investigate any allegation against an employee with the due diligence that the public entrusts in us.
This DUI case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for charges and no further comments will be made by the Sheriff’s Office.
