The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has been assisting the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation of two unidentified bodies located near River Road. One of the bodies was located on May 10, 2024 the other on May 13, 2024. Both bodies were transported to the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center for further testing and examination.  

This afternoon we received confirmation through DNA testing on the identities of the two deceased individuals. Both individuals had been reported missing in early January of 2024. Monica R. Williams, 6/20/1994 had been reported missing through the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin M. Ledesma, 3/29/2000 was reported through the Wichita Police Department 

The Sheriff’s Office has identified several suspects in the case. There is no immediate threat to the citizens regarding this case. No further details can be released at this time. The circumstances in which these individuals were killed remains under investigation by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, if you have any information on the matter you are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at 316-660-5300.
