On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Benefit Fund will begin their annual food basket drive to enhance the holiday season for Sedgwick County residents who are in need of assistance. Volunteers will be packaging food items for delivery at the Dillon’s warehouse, 21999 W. US 54. The best news media opportunity at the Dillon’s warehouse will be between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Benefit Fund would like to give a huge and special Thank You to the citizens of Sedgwick County who donated for this event. Without them this would not have been possible. Dillon’s provides the Benefit Fund with the materials, the use of their facility, and personnel to package up the boxes. The Benefit Fund will be providing 500 families with two boxes filled with various food products. Names of families are submitted by citizens and first responders in Sedgwick County.
Several dozen volunteers from all First Responder sections (Fire, EMS, 911 Dispatch, WPD, and Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies) assist with the packaging and delivering of over 1000 boxes of food.
