Halloween and Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips

OffenderWatch® is an offender mapping and alerting service that aids citizens in avoiding dangerous homes.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be informed as you and your children enjoy trick-or-treating this Halloween. There are approximately 1700 registered sex offenders, 1000 violent offenders, and 800 drug offenders in Sedgwick County. You can visit our offender search website, https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/offender-search , to see where registered offenders are living. Citizens are encouraged to check any address where they or their family spend time. The mapping and address feature found on the website pinpoints exactly where an offender lives.

You can also sign up for FREE automatic email notifications informing you if an offender moves into your neighborhood. The alerts are in real-time, and sent out via e-mail as soon as a new offender has registered with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to have a fun and safe Halloween. Knowledge is power and knowing where registered offenders reside in your area can help you make the best choices for a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
