A Sedgwick County inmate was transported to a local hospital in critical condition by EMS on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, due to chronic medical problems. The 67 year old man was being housed in the detention facility medical clinic after reporting difficulties with his chronic medical issues to detention medical staff.

Due to his critical condition, and based on medical advice, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office contacted the inmate’s family and made accommodations for them to visit the inmate that evening. Unfortunately, he died at 8:45 PM.

He was booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Facility in early September on a felony charge.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office offers condolences to the inmate’s friends and family.
