Five Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputies and 16 Wichita Police Officers will graduate from the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Central Community Church located at 6100 W. Maple, Wichita, Kansas.

The newest law enforcement officers are part of a combined academy class at the training center. Their 24 weeks of basic academy training included such topics as interpersonal communication, policy and procedure, legal issues, computer training, defensive tactics, firearms training, and Emergency Vehicle Operations.

After graduation, the new deputies and police officers will begin several weeks of field training, where they will work as partners with veteran deputies and officers.

A reception for the graduates, family members and honored guests will follow the ceremony.
