Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Identifies Skeletal Remains Found in Oaklawn

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has identified the skeletal remains discovered on Dec. 16, 2024, in the 4800 block of South Clifton in Oaklawn.

Through positive dental records and clothing, investigators have confirmed the remains belong to 46-year-old Dion Elliott Curry. Detectives determined that Curry was homeless and known to frequent the Oaklawn area. He was a registered offender and last reported to the Sheriff’s Office Offender Registration Unit in Jan. 2024. In Apr. 2024, Curry was reported missing to the Wichita Police Department.

As previously stated, a preliminary skeletal examination conducted by an anthropologist showed no signs of trauma, and no foul play is suspected in his death.
