WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center will host a graduation ceremony for the Fall 2024 Commissioned Law Enforcement Academy class at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. The ceremony will take place in the lower-level auditorium of the Ruffin Building, 100 N. Broadway.
Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter will welcome three new deputies to the Sheriff’s Office. The recruits recently completed 25 weeks of academy training, which included instruction on interpersonal communication, policies and procedures, legal issues, computer skills, and defensive tactics. Following graduation, the recruits will begin an eight-week field training program, partnering with veteran deputies to apply their training on the streets of Sedgwick County.
A reception for the graduates, their families, friends, and honored guests will follow the ceremony.
