Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds oversees the recording of all real estate transactions within Sedgwick County. This encompasses deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases, as well as platted additions to all municipalities in the county. Additionally, the office handles the filing of financing statements, security agreements on personal property under the Uniform Commercial Code, Federal and State tax liens, powers of attorney, and military discharges. Beyond recording transactions, the Register of Deeds is entrusted with the maintenance and preservation of records as mandated by statutory requirements.
