On July 10, the County Manager presented his 2025 Recommended Budget of $593,585,225. The 2025 Recommended Budget was developed to focus on some key priorities such as developing a plan to resolve the structural imbalance within two budget years, ensuring core services are protected, and providing relief to taxpayers. Estimated assessed valuation growth in Sedgwick County is 8.23 percent and 9.46 percent in Fire District 1. Property tax rates are estimated to be 28.659 mills for Sedgwick County and 17.000 mills for Fire District 1. Commissioners are expected to vote on the 2025 budget on August 21 after holding two public hearings (July 31 at 6 p.m. and August 21 at 9 a.m.) and an online public budget forum.
